FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Saqib Raza has directed WASA officials to expedite the completion of newly constructed disposal station in Samanabad and said that the project would provide significant relief from sewerage problems to the residents of eastern part of Faisalabad and surrounding localities.
He issued these directives during an extensive inspection of Samanabad area while Director Operations Nauman Noor and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
The MD WASA reviewed the ongoing sewerage and drainage projects in Jowala Nagar, Deccan Park, Qadri Chowk, Muzaffar Colony, Nisar Colony, Masoodabad and Samanabad.
During visit, he assessed the pace of construction work on the new disposal station and emphasized that its early completion is imperative for resolving persistent sewerage issues affecting a large population in the area.
He said that the disposal station is a major infrastructure project that would substantially improve drainage operations and ensure the smooth disposal of wastewater from Samanabad and adjoining neighborhoods. The facility would help strengthen sewerage network of the city and improve public sanitation standards, he added.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He also directed the concerned officers to further accelerate work on the scheme for laying the main force line, describing it as a crucial component of the overall drainage improvement plan.
He instructed officials to submit daily progress reports to ensure close monitoring of construction activities and timely completion of all project components.
He said that providing citizens with efficient and reliable drainage services remains the agency's top priority. All available resources are being utilized to improve sewerage infrastructure and address public complaints related to wastewater disposal, he added.
He expressed confidence that the completion of Samanabad disposal station would bring a lasting solution to sewerage-related issues in Samanabad and neighboring localities, significantly improving the quality of life for residents and enhancing the overall urban environment.
He directed field officers to maintain strict supervision of ongoing development work and ensure that construction standards and timelines are fully observed so that the benefits of the project could reach the public without delay.
