New drug case traced to 'Pinky' as probe widens

LAHORE:

Another narcotics case linked to alleged drug trafficker Anmol alias Pinky has surfaced in Lahore, according to police sources and official records, as investigators continue to expand the scope of an ongoing internal inquiry into multiple drug cases connected to her and her associates.

The latest case was registered at Wahdat Colony Police Station in 2024.

Police records suggest that although the suspect's name allegedly surfaced during investigation, she was not declared a proclaimed offender in this case, raising further questions about procedural handling.

Earlier, three other narcotics cases registered at Liaquatabad, Iqbal Town and Kot Lakhpat police stations were also traced to Anmol alias Pinky, according to investigators reviewing her alleged criminal record.

A copy of FIR 1744/24, registered on November 14, 2024 under Sections 9(1) and 15 of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, shows that police arrested a woman identified as Sabran Bibi near Khushiya Darbar in Lahore.

Authorities claimed 20 grams of cocaine were recovered from her possession.

The FIR states that during interrogation, the accused allegedly disclosed that the narcotics were supplied by "Anmol daughter of Murad, resident of Karachi" for onward sale. The case was registered on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Muhammad Asif of the Narcotics Cell North Lahore following a raid based on a tip-off.

The development comes amid an ongoing departmental audit ordered by senior Lahore police officials into multiple narcotics cases linked to Anmol alias Pinky and her family members.

Investigators are reviewing whether negligence or facilitation occurred in earlier investigations and why a consolidated criminal record was not fully developed despite repeated references to her name in different cases.

In a separate development, supplementary investigation findings in an earlier narcotics case registered at Iqbal Town Police Station against her brother, Nasir Baloch, have also surfaced.

According to the report, Nasir Baloch was arrested on May 22, 2020 from Huma Block, Iqbal Town, with police allegedly recovering 2,050 grams of narcotics.

The supplementary report described Anmol alias Pinky as a "major drug dealer" and stated that during interrogation the arrested suspect allegedly confessed that the recovered narcotics belonged to his sister.

It further noted that the accused was sent on judicial remand for 14 days following court approval.
