New DHA Police Post in-charge pledges zero tolerance against crime

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Mar, 2026) Sub-Inspector Syed Aamir Abbas on Sunday assumed charge as the In-charge of the DHA Police Post under Morgah Police Station, pledging a “zero tolerance” approach against street crime, drug trafficking and burglaries.

Following his appointment by City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, he immediately initiated a review of security arrangements, prioritising the safety of mosques and Imambargahs during congregational prayers and Taraweeh.

Sub-Inspector Aamir Abbas said his command would combine modern technology, strategic planning and data-driven crime mapping to strengthen patrolling and surveillance at sensitive locations.

He underscored community policing as central to lasting peace and urged residents to report suspicious activities promptly.

The local community welcomed his appointment, praising the CPO’s decision to empower young, proactive officers to enhance security in DHA and the surrounding areas.
