New deputy commissioner assumes charge

LOWER DIR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Basharat Ahmad on Tuesday formally assumed charge as Deputy Commissioner, Lower Dir and Commandant, Dir Levies, the official sources have said.

A smartly turned-out contingent of the Dir Levies presented a guard of honour to the newly appointed deputy commissioner upon his arrival.

Speaking after taking charge, Ahmad said public service, merit and transparency would be ensured at every level of the administration.

He said the district administration would remain proactive in resolving public issues in a timely manner and promoting good governance.

Ahmad further said effective coordination among government departments, discipline and public-friendly measures would help further strengthen the administrative environment in Lower Dir.
