KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) Sindh Governor Muhammad Nehal Hashmi, after taking oath of office on Friday, had his first Iftar with orphaned boys and girls residing at Edhi Homes Karachi.

Terming the Iftar (breaking the fast) along with those children as a source of blissfulness, the Sindh Governor stressed on promoting mutual respect and virtue in society, strengthening the tradition of sharing each other's sorrows and taking care of others in the need of the hour, said a statement issued.

The real provider of sustenance is Allah Almighty and He is the one who blesses every creature, he stated adding that the people of Pakistan are among the most charitable people in the world. The governor also lauded services of Faisal Edhi and such other welfare workers and philanthropists for welfare of the society.

Nehal Hashmi, speaking at the occasion said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz have introduced packages worth billions of rupees for the welfare of the people, from which the people are getting direct relief.

Hashmi said that he has got the opportunity to learn from his leadership and he will play every possible role for the betterment of the city and the province. He also assured that the Federal government would further accelerate the ongoing development projects in Sindh.

Responding to a media query, the Sindh Governor said that under the Prime Minister Youth Program, opportunities are being provided to the youth in 18 different sectors with a special focus on the 4Es (education, Employment, Environment and Entrepreneurship).
