ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Vice Chancellor of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Prof. Nasir Jamal Khattak, has said that Neelum Valley, endowed with abundant natural beauty and resources, holds immense potential to emerge as one of the most attractive destinations for higher education, particularly for students from across the country.

He made these remarks during his visit to the university’s Neelum Campus, where he reviewed academic, administrative, and infrastructural arrangements and reaffirmed institutional support for strengthening the campus in line with modern requirements, received a press release here on Wednesday.

During the visit, Prof. Khattak interacted with students, faculty members, and administrative staff, and inspected academic facilities, including computer laboratories and library resources. He stressed the need for modern educational tools and a conducive learning environment to ensure the delivery of higher education.

He observed that the Neelum Valley Campus, situated in one of the country’s most scenic and tourist-attracting regions, possesses unique potential to become a preferred academic destination, combining learning opportunities with an inspiring natural environment. He assured full administrative support for the campus’s future development.

The Vice Chancellor reiterated that students and faculty of Neelum Campus would continue to receive equal attention and resources as other campuses of the university.

The Campus Director, Dr Lal Hussain, briefed the delegation on academic progress, administrative reforms, student enrolment, and ongoing development initiatives. He highlighted the conduct of seminars, workshops, and expert sessions to enhance students’ academic exposure and professional skills.

He also informed the meeting about a Rs44.166 million boundary wall project, noting that its tender had been floated through newspapers and the PPRA website to ensure transparency and timely execution. He further apprised the delegation regarding PC-1 proposals submitted for the establishment and strengthening of the campus and its Department of Computer Science.

In a separate interactive session with students, the Vice Chancellor encouraged participants to pursue academic excellence through discipline, hard work, and character building. Sharing experiences from his academic journey, including his progression from early education to receiving the Fulbright Scholarship, he urged students to remain committed to their goals and cultivate leadership qualities for future success. The session featured open dialogue, with the Vice Chancellor responding to students’ concerns and questions.

The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by senior officials, including the Registrar, Prof. Dr Saadat Hanif Dar; the Director of Finance, Prof. Dr Khawaja Muhammad Basharat; and the Controller of Examinations, Prof. Dr Basharat Ahmed.
