NDF Pakistan Provides Electric , Manual Wheelchairs to three Brothers with Physical Disabilities

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jul, 2026) The National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan, in collaboration with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, has provided assistive devices to three brothers with physical disabilities from the underprivileged Thakur Hindu family in Moro.

Akash Thakur, Sagar Thakur, and Sajin Thakur have been living with physical disabilities and faced significant mobility challenges, limiting their independence and daily activities. Responding to their request, NDF Pakistan delivered one electric wheelchair and two manual wheelchairs directly to their doorstep, enabling them to move with greater dignity, comfort, and independence.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Abid Lashari, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, President of NDF Pakistan, stated that assistive devices are essential for empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring their equal participation in society.

He emphasized that access to mobility is a fundamental right that opens doors to education, healthcare, employment, and social inclusion.

Lashari expressed his sincere appreciation to the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, for its continued partnership and commitment to improving the lives of persons with disabilities across Sindh. He noted that through this collaboration, hundreds of persons with disabilities have received wheelchairs, tri-motor bikes, hearing aids, white canes, walkers, CP chairs, and other assistive devices that have transformed their lives.

NDF Pakistan remains committed to working with the Government of Sindh, development partners, and the private sector to promote disability inclusion, rehabilitation services, accessibility, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities, ensuring that no one is left behind.
