NDF Pakistan distributes wheelchairs, tricycles , helping tools to persons with Disabilities

NAWABSHAH Jun 16 (APP) , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 16th Jun, 2026) The National Disability & Development Forum (NDF) Pakistan, in collaboration with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, organized a grand assistive devices distribution ceremony for persons with disabilities in Nawabshah.

Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, and Regional Director DEPD, Nisar Ahmed Brohi, attended as chief guests.

During the ceremony, more than 200 persons with disabilities received wheelchairs, tricycles, tricycle motorcycles, electric wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches to enhance their mobility, independence, and quality of life.

Mr Abid Lashari, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, President NDF Pakistan, stated that NDF has always remained committed to the welfare, rehabilitation, and social inclusion of persons with disabilities. He emphasized that access to assistive devices is essential for enabling persons with disabilities to participate fully and independently in society.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani and Regional Director Nisar Ahmed Brohi appreciated the joint efforts of the Government of Sindh and NDF Pakistan.

They stated that such initiatives are instrumental in empowering persons with disabilities and enabling them to become active, productive, and dignified members of society.

They further emphasized that persons with disabilities are equal stakeholders in society and have the right to equal opportunities in every sphere of life. “It is truly heartening to witness the joy and satisfaction on the faces of the beneficiaries today,” they remarked.

Among those who attended the ceremony were Election Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Yousuf Majeedano, NADRA Zonal Incharge Rafiq Ahmed Buller, Mudasar Domki DHO, Assistant Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Shehzado Jiskani, NDF Program Manager Tariq Hussain Channar, Abdul Hameed Arain, Waris Noonari, Lal Chand, Akram Khaskheli, and other distinguished guests.

At the conclusion of the event, the participants highly appreciated the collaborative efforts of NDF Pakistan and the Government of Sindh and stressed the need to continue such programs for the welfare, rehabilitation, and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
