National Peace and Justice Council holds Mansehra seminar, new office bearers sworn in amid calls for peace and harmony

MANSEHRA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) A seminar titled “Pakistan Army: Protector of Pakistan” was organized under the auspices of the National Peace and Justice Council of Pakistan at a local hotel in Upper Chenai, Mansehra, where a large number of political, social, academic figures and serving as well as retired government officials participated.

The seminar was attended by Chairman Dr. Mian Abdul Waheed, Chief Coordinator Central Punjab Syed Ijaz Hussain Shah, Deputy Chief Administrator Central Punjab Imran Jatt, Federal Media Advisor Murad Ali Khan, and Chief Coordinator Diplomatic and Parliamentary Affairs Malik Kifayat, who addressed the participants.

During the event, an oath-taking ceremony of newly appointed office bearers was also held. Chairman Dr. Mian Abdul Waheed administered the oath to Pirzada Karim as Deputy Chief Administrator Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Pir Muhammad Atiq-ur-Rehman Farooqui as Deputy Chief Administrator Hazara Division, and Muhammad Irfan as Coordinator Hazara Division.

On this occasion, certificates of excellence for the year 2026 and National Peace Awards were also distributed among participants along with appreciation certificates.

Prominent personalities from Mansehra’s political and social circles also attended the event, including Mian Tahir Shah, Barrister Sangeen Sultan Khan, retired Brigadier Aslam Khan (Vice President), Traffic Police Inspector Ins Khan, District Sui Gas Officer Muhammad Saleem, representatives of the Traders Association, Haji Shahid, Muhammad Nadeem Qayyum Advocate, Malik Sabir Awan, Noor-ul-Ain Falak, Raheela Mughal Advocate, and others.

In his address, Chairman Dr. Mian Abdul Waheed said that the National Peace and Justice Council is actively working for the promotion of peace, tolerance, and mutual understanding in society. He said the organization functions on the principles of “Justice of Peace” and “Peace of Justice.”

He urged participants to play their role in ending enmity in society and promoting forgiveness, reconciliation, and tolerance.

He further stated that the National Peace and Justice Council is a unique organization working in coordination with the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and the Central Broadcasting Department, with its organizational structure designed on the pattern of an assembly.
