Officials say Arzoo was admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) on Saturday after falling from a scooty and suffering severe head injuries
QUETTA: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 22nd, 2026) National karate athlete Arzoo Haider Ali passed away at a private hospital in Quetta on Wednesday after sustaining critical injuries in a road accident last week, confirmed the Balochistan Sports Department.
The officials said that Arzoo was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) on Saturday after falling from a scooty and suffering severe head injuries.
She was reportedly en route to participate in a karate championship at Ayub Sports Complex when the accident occurred.
The talented athlete had represented Balochistan in multiple national competitions and had earned both gold and silver medals at the National Games, making her a prominent figure in the province’s sports circle.
Balochistan Sports Secretary Durra Baloch, on the direction of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, had earlier visited the hospital to inquire about her condition.
During the visit, he met the family and assured them of complete government support for her medical treatment.
Officials said the Sports Department remained in close contact with the family throughout her treatment and ensured all possible medical assistance was provided.
Her death has been widely mourned in sporting circles, with tributes pouring in for the young athlete’s achievements and contribution to karate in Balochistan.
