Martyrs will be laid to rest in their respective native towns with full military honors.
The Namaz-e-Janaza for the Shuhada, who embraced martyrdom on Wednesday in a tragic MI-17 helicopter crash in Muzaffarabad, was offered on Thursday at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi.
The Namaz-e-Janaza was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, the Defence Minister, the Information Minister, senior civil and military officials, relatives of the Shuhada, and segments of the society.
Earlier, funeral services for two Christian soldiers who embraced martyrdom were held at Christ Church in Rawalpindi, with members of the political and military leadership in attendance.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the martyrs’ devotion to duty, professionalism, and dedication to protecting the motherland would continue to inspire future generations.
He stressed that the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s Armed Forces for the country’s peace, security, and sovereignty would never be forgotten. The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the nation’s steadfast support for the families of the martyrs during this difficult time.
