Authorities said the company failed to meet the terms and conditions.

National Accountability Bureau in Karachi has recovered 80 acres of precious government land worth Rs6 billion that was illegally allotted to Bahria Town in Hyderabad.

According to officials, the land was located in a prime area at Gulistan-e-Sarmast Housing Scheme, Deh Ganjo Takkar. It was allegedly allotted to Bahria Town at a very low amount of Rs383 million, which was also not fully paid.

Authorities said the company failed to meet the terms and conditions of the allotment, including the main purpose of establishing a university on the land.

NAB Karachi identified the irregularities and took up the matter with the Hyderabad Development Authority.

Following NAB’s intervention, HDA canceled the allotment and repossessed the land, while also forfeiting the amount that had been partially paid by Bahria Town.
