NAB Multan, Phata join hands as unpaid commercialization fee runs in billions

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Multan, and Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (Phata) have decided to join hands against illegal commercialization and recover unpaid dues from owners that now run into billions.

Director General NAB Multan Asim Lodhi chaired a meeting at the bureau's regional office here Wednesday with Director General Phata Khawaja Sikandar Zeeshan and his team in attendance. The meeting was aimed at devising a coordinated strategy against illegal commercialization and to ensure recovery of outstanding commercialization fee, says a release issued by NAB Multan spokesman.

The meeting reviewed Phata’s working, overall performance, and matters relating to commercialization of residential properties and recovery of dues.

Participants were informed that billions of rupees in commercialization charges are outstanding from various shops, plazas and commercial centers, including those located on Brands Road in Multan and other areas, making timely recovery imperative.

Various practical measures were discussed to ensure effective recovery of arrears. It was decided that NAB Multan would provide full cooperation and legal assistance to Phata while support from district administration and police would also be sought.

The meeting agreed on indiscriminate action against illegal commercialization and expeditious recovery of dues to safeguard state interests and prevent losses to the national exchequer.
