Muzaffargarh Police clinch overall first position in Inter-District Police Games 2026

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) The Inter-District Police Games 2026 of the DG Khan region concluded successfully at Faisal Stadium, where Muzaffargarh Police secured overall first position, while Layyah Police and Dera Ghazi Khan Police jointly secured second position and Rajanpur Police remained third.

According to a police spokesperson, the games were hosted by Muzaffargarh Police under the supervision of District Police Officer Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah. Male and female players from across the DG Khan region participated enthusiastically and displayed outstanding performances in various sports competitions.

The competitions included shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, 100-meter and 200-meter races, powerlifting, badminton and several other sports events.

A prize distribution ceremony was also held at Faisal Stadium, attended by DPO Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah as chief guest. DSP Headquarters Waheed Ishaq Khanzada and DSP City Zafar Iqbal Wattoo welcomed the guests and participants.

Speaking on the occasion, the DPO said that physical fitness was essential for police officers and officials, adding that sports activities played a vital role in enhancing professional capabilities and improving public service delivery.

He said it was encouraging to witness active participation of police personnel in regular sports activities and expressed the desire that every police officer and employee should take part in such healthy competitions.

Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah appreciated the successful organization of the event and lauded Incharge Sports Shehzad Gujjar for making excellent arrangements.

He further said that it was a matter of pride for Muzaffargarh to host teams from all districts of the region and thanked all participating police officials for making the event successful.

The DPO added that the scope of sports activities within the police department would be expanded further and such activities would be made part of the routine for police officers and employees to promote fitness and teamwork.
