MUZAFFARABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) The Food Authority in Muzaffarabad has seized a truck loaded with snacks and namkeen of a well-known brand during an operation aimed at protecting public health, particularly that of children, officials said on Wednesday.
According to officials, the action was taken in the capital city of Muzaffarabad after authorities found that the products of brand “KK Foods” were being supplied without proper registration and the required quality certification.
The seized truck, carrying a large quantity of snacks, was taken into custody following a tip-off. The operation was conducted by a special team of the Food Authority comprising assistant food safety officers and supporting staff.
Officials said the consignment had reportedly been brought to Muzaffarabad division for distribution ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, but lacked mandatory registration and quality reports, in violation of food safety regulations.
The confiscated items have been shifted to a government warehouse and sealed. Samples of the products have also been collected and sent to an accredited laboratory for further analysis to examine their quality, manufacturing and expiry dates, labeling, ingredient details and compliance with hygiene standards.
Authorities said there would be no compromise on public health, particularly the health of young consumers, and warned that strict legal action would continue against the supply of unregistered or substandard food items.
The Food Authority also urged citizens to report any suspicious or substandard food products by contacting its helpline 1280, so that timely action can be taken.
