Municipal Corporation revenue rises on record auction bids

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2026) The Municipal Corporation(MC) witnessed a notable increase in revenue after contracts for the rickshaw fee, slaughterhouse fee and poultry house fee were awarded through an open auction held on Tuesday.

According to municipal officials,the rickshaw fee contract was awarded for a record Rs.4.1 million,exceeding last year's bid and marking the highest amount received under the category.

The slaughterhouse fee contract was finalized at Rs.760,000 while the poultry house fee contract fetched Rs.2.76 million.

Officials said the auction was conducted in a transparent manner in the presence of Municipal Committee officers and a representative of the deputy commissioner to ensure fairness and compliance with the prescribed procedure.

The higher bids were expected to strengthen the civic body's revenue and support the provision of municipal services.
