Multan police seize 124kg hashish worth Rs 10m, drug dealer arrested

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) breaking a bigger supply chain, Multan police claimed to have seized more than 124 kilograms of hashish worth over Rs10 million and arrested an alleged drug dealer during a crackdown on narcotics in the limits of Basti Malook police station in the city's suburbs.

According to police, the arrested suspect, identified as Azhar Hussain, son of Mahmood Ali r/o Farooq Nagar, Sheikhupura, was allegedly part of a major drug trafficking network and was involved in supplying narcotics across Punjab.

Police said the suspect was arrested during an operation conducted at Adda Billi Wala here.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of SP Sadar division Nauman Zafar and led by SHO Basti Malook Rao Ali Hassan. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Amir, Assistant Sub-Inspector Umair Israr and other police personnel also participated in the operation.

Addressing a press conference along with SSP Operations Haider Ali, SP Saddar Nauman Zafar and SHO Rao Ali Hassan, City Police Officer (CPO) Multan Sadiq Ali Dogar said that police were committed to eliminating the menace of drugs and would continue their operations against narcotics traffickers.

He said the objective of the police was not only to arrest drug dealers but also to dismantle the entire narcotics supply chain. He appreciated the efforts and professionalism of the police team, describing the seizure as an important step towards protecting society from the menace of drugs.

A case has been registered at Basti Malook police station and further legal proceedings are underway.

Police officials reiterated that the campaign against drug trafficking would continue and vowed to bring all those involved in the illegal trade to justice.
