Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Multan approved a Rs 3 billion budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 on Tuesday, bringing a major increase in scholarships and rewards for outstanding Matric and Intermediate students under the Quaid-e-Azam

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jun, 2026) Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Multan approved a Rs 3 billion budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 on Tuesday, bringing a major increase in scholarships and rewards for outstanding Matric and Intermediate students under the Quaid-e-Azam

Scholarship Programme.

Under the revised scheme, merit-based residential students will receive Rs 90,000 per

student, up from Rs 33,000, while scholarships for non-residential students have been

increased from Rs 21,000 to Rs 70,000, says an official release.

The Board of Governors also approved a substantial increase in cash awards for Matric

and Intermediate position holders. First position holders will now receive Rs100,000,

second position holders Rs 75,000 and third position holders Rs 50,000, replacing

the previous awards of Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively.

The budget, presented by Board Secretary Khurram Qureshi, also included approval

for the establishment of a provident fund for board employees, increased honoraria

for examination superintendents, supervisory staff, examination personnel and committee

members and officers. The board also approved allocation of funds for introducing

a digital screen marking system to further enhance transparency in examinations.

The Board of Governors also approved the extension of its agreement with Habib Bank.
