Multan athletes honoured for outstanding performance in Athletics Championship

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2026) Sports department honoured Multan athletes at a ceremony here Monday for their outstanding demonstration of skill bringing Inter-District Athletics Championship 2026 crown to Multan with several gold medals won.

The ceremony, chaired by district sports officer Adnan Naeem, honoured the boys and girls with shields, prizes and words of praise for winning medals in the championship organized by divisional sports Sports Department Multan.

Muhammad Zahid Akbar, CEO of Mix IT Links, Assistant Librarian Waqar Ahmad, Madam Saba Habib, Madam Nausheen, and coach Rana Habib were present among others.

The championship was organized as part of Youth Year 2026 at Khanewal Sports Stadium.

The athletes honoured included Areeba Murtaza, Hadiya Batool, Alizey Hassan, Samina Iqbal, Laraib Nawaz, Madiha Qasim, Qurat-ul-Ain, Nadia Rafiq, Aqsa Iqbal, Nazeer Haider, Aqib Sultan, Azam Ali, Ramzan Nadeem, Sajid, Muhammad Yaseen and Abdul Manan.

Speaking on the occasion, Adnan Naeem said, athletes of Multan possess immense natural talent and abilities that the sports and youth affairs department would continue to nurture.

Expressing confidence in the athletes, he hoped that Multan’s promising sportsmen and sportswomen would continue their impressive performances in the upcoming inter-division championship and bring further laurels to the district.
