Meeting will take place at Badshahi Masjid and will be chaired by Maulana Khabeer Azad.
A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has been scheduled in Lahore on June 15 to sight the moon of Muharram ul Haram. The meeting will take place at the historic Badshahi Masjid and will be chaired by Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad.
At the same time, zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will hold separate meetings at their respective headquarters across the country to collect reports regarding the moon sighting.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will review evidence received from different parts of the country before announcing its final decision on whether the Muharram crescent has been sighted.
Meanwhile, astronomers believe that the chances of sighting the moon on the evening of June 15 are low. Based on astronomical estimates, the 1st of Muharram 1448 AH is expected to fall on June 17, while Youm-e-Ashur is likely to be observed on June 26.
