KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jul, 2026) Sindh Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that MQM-P still believes in shortcut politics instead of public mandate, using issues like Federal intervention for political pressure is proof of MQM’s political blackmailing.

Reacting to the MQM leader Farooq Sattar’s press conference, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said in a statement that MQM has lost the trust of the people, it is missing power, and now it is looking for shortcuts.

He said that MQM should not make the resources of the people of Karachi a means of political bargaining, the talk of handing over Sindh’s affairs to the federation is a sinister conspiracy against the federal structure, the mandate of the people of Sindh, the 1973 Constitution and Sindh are not a laboratory where when the politics of a party weakens, it attacks them.

Sharjeel Inam Memon Inam Memon said that Dr. Farooq Sattar should remember that the people of Sindh have given a clear mandate to the Pakistan Peoples Party, this mandate cannot be changed by any press conference, threat or political blackmail.

He said that if MQM wants a greater share of power, its path goes through the people's vote, federal intervention or dragging constitutional institutions into political disputes does not give power. MQM should tell why, despite being part of the government in the federation, it could not fulfil its promises for Karachi?

Memon said that instead of blaming the Sindh government for his failures, Farooq Sattar should question his federal allies; there will be no compromise on the constitutional powers of Sindh, provincial autonomy and the mandate of the people of Karachi.

He said that the development of Karachi is not possible through political blackmailing or distribution of positions, and the Sindh government will continue its journey of development, public service and constitutional supremacy of the entire Sindh, including Karachi, with full force.
