The KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, and the President of Savaira Dr Yasmeen Khan inked the MoU documents at the VC Secretariat on Thursday.

Savaira’s President Dr Yasmeen Khan mentioned that Savaria’s mission is to improve the well-being of Pakistanis by creating awareness, offering prevention programs, and enhancing access to quality care in mental health.

She informed the audience that Savaria under the previous MoU with the KU had trained over 500 students in different sessions during the last two years.

She added that as the last MoU had expired, they want to sign another MoU to continue working with the KU students and faculty.

The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi observed that there is a need to explore new and more ways to trace people facing mental health issues and give them the best solutions so that they can get rid of their problems.

He mentioned that a large number of people might be facing mental health problems in society, but they would be afraid to share their issues with others.

He emphasizes that identifying those people and helping them in their difficult times is indeed a big achievement.
