Motorcyclist dies after falling into canal in Muzaffargarh

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) A motorcyclist died after falling into a drainage canal on Banda Ishaq Katcha Pakka Road near Ruknwali in the outskirts of Union Council Kalruwali,Muzaffargarh,police said on Sunday.

According to police sources,the victim was identified as Malik Hafeez,r/of Basti Adam Khaki,died on the spot after his motorcycle plunged into the canal.

Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred due to the absence of a safety railing or protective wall along the canal bridge, leaving commuters vulnerable to fatal accidents.

Local residents said similar incidents had been reported at the same location in the past,resulting in loss of lives.

They demanded the immediate construction of a protective railing or boundary wall to prevent further tragedies.

Police said the body was taken into custody and legal formalities was underway.
