More than 450,000 driving licenses issued

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) The process of issuing driving licenses is progressing rapidly across the province, with more than 450,000 licenses issued during the current month, according to an official spokesperson.

Statistics reveal that over 150,000 citizens obtained learner’s licenses, while more than 147,000 were issued regular driving licenses. In addition, around 153,000 citizens renewed their learner, regular, and international driving licenses during this period.

The spokesperson further stated that more than 1,261 citizens were able to recover their lost licenses, while over 2,500 individuals were issued international driving permits.

A significant number of applicants also benefited from digital services, with more than 92,000 citizens availing license-related facilities through e-services platforms.

Muhammad Waqas Nazir emphasized that driving without a valid license is a legal offense and violators may face heavy fines and strict legal action. He also clarified that e-driving licenses hold the same legal status as traditional physical license cards.
