Montessori student injured by dog bite

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) A Montessori student suffered critical injuries after being bitten by a stray dog while on the way to school,rescue officials said on Wednesday.

According to rescuers, Muhammad Umair,son of Ghulam Sarwar and a r/o Chak No.594/TDA was traveling to school in a rickshaw when a stray dog suddenly jumped onto the vehicle and attacked him,biting his legs and arms.

The injured child was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Chowk Sarwar Shaheed where he remained under treatment.

The victim’s parents appealed to the district administration to ensure better medical treatment for the child.

Meanwhile,local residents staged a protest against the increasing number of stray dog attacks in the area,saying the latest incident was not an isolated case.

They claimed that despite repeated complaints to municipal authorities,no effective action had been taken to address the issue through a culling drive or other preventive measures.
