Interior Minister Moshin Naqvi is visiting Tehran amid Pakistan efforts for peaceful resolution of the regional conflict
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-May 20th, 2026) Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi departed for Tehran on Wednesday for the second time within a week as Pakistan continues diplomatic efforts aimed at facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States.
Naqvi had earlier visited the Iranian capital on May 17, where he held meetings with senior Iranian officials regarding regional developments and ongoing diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Washington.
According to sources, the latest visit is part of Islamabad’s continued efforts to support peace initiatives and help reduce tensions in the region amid stalled negotiations between Iran and the United States.
Iranian media reported that Naqvi is expected to hold meetings with senior Iranian leadership during the visit. Pakistan has remained actively engaged in diplomatic outreach following months of heightened tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel.

In a statement issued through Iranian media, the Guards said any further military action against Iran would trigger a strong response extending beyond the region.
Separately, Pakistan strongly condemned recent drone attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates during a session of the United Nations Security Council.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, denounced the reported drone attacks on the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the UAE as well as attacks against Saudi Arabia, reaffirming Pakistan’s support for regional peace and stability.
