OSLO, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Norway was met with a wave of defiance as protesters gathered outside the Norwegian Parliament to remind the international community of the ongoing struggle for freedom and justice in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Despite the diplomatic ceremonies, demonstrators made it clear that the demand for the right to self-determination remains alive and growing across the globe, even as Kashmiris live under intense military pressure, surveillance, and political restrictions.
The atmosphere in the Norwegian capital turned politically charged as protesters chanted that the "Grand Cross" award cannot wash away the blood of Kashmiris and minorities.
The demonstrators criticized Modi’s policies, labeling him an oppressive leader whose Hindutva-rooted agenda has intensified pressure on Muslims and other minorities in India.
"Modi can organize diplomatic tours and image-building campaigns abroad, but it cannot erase the anger and pain of families in Kashmir who have lived through years of crackdowns, detentions, fear, and media blackouts," protesters stated during the rally.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The speakers at the event argued that Kashmir is not merely a territorial dispute but a profound human issue involving millions whose political voices have been suppressed for decades.
They urged Norway and the wider international community to stop treating Kashmir as a "side issue", confront the daily reality of those living under heavy militarization and uphold the promised right to self-determination.
The protestors said that Kashmiris have not surrendered their identity or their voice despite years of force and political pressure.
They reinforced that the struggle for dignity and the right to decide their own future will continue to resonate internationally, challenging any attempt to normalize the situation through ceremonial diplomacy.
