Modi-led govt resorts to water aggression after operation Sindoor embarrassment

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2026) Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah has said that the Modi-led government has now resorted to water aggression following the failure and international embarrassment regarding operation Sindoor.

He said that on the instructions of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari rallies being taken out under the slogan "Maroon Maroon Sindhu Na Desoon".

The Indus River is the very soul of Sindh's civilization, history and identity, he said.

The Minister said that ancient civilization of Sindh flourished for thousands of years along the banks of the Indus River.

Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah said that the Indus Waters Treaty is an internationally recognized agreement and it is the responsibility of the international community, the United Nations and relevant international institutions to ensure compliance with international water treaties.

He said that any violation of the Indus Waters Treaty could seriously undermine regional peace, stability and mutual trust.

The Sindh Culture Minister said that the people of Pakistan are fully capable of safeguarding the country's water resources and protecting international agreements.

He said that the RSS-backed government poses a threat not only to India but also to peace across the region.

Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah said that Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has awakened the conscience of the international community on this critical water issue.

He said that "Butcher of India" government will once again face defeat.
