Mock exercise held in Lodh ahead of Muharram

LODHRAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) As part of efforts to ensure foolproof security arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram, Lodhran police conducted a mock exercise at Darbar Rafiq Shah to assess emergency response capabilities.

The exercise brought together personnel from the Police Department, Elite force, Civil Defence, Fire brigade, Rescue 1122, Special branch and other departments.

DSP Sadar circle Abid Hussain Bhalla supervised the drill and reviewed the preparedness of participating departments.

The mock exercise simulated an emergency situation in which security and rescue teams were alerted through a sudden distress call. Responding swiftly, all relevant departments reached the site and demonstrated their abilities.

The operation included apprehending armed suspect, clearing the area, ensuring public safety, and carrying out rescue and evacuation activities as per SOPs.

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Capt (retd) Ali Bin Tariq, said the successful conduct of the mock exercise reflected the professional competence, preparedness and close coordination among all institutions responsible for maintaining law and order. He stressed that regular drills and effective communication among departments were essential for tackling any emergency situation efficiently.

The DPO said that all available resources would be utilized to maintain law and order and protect lives and properties of citizens during Muharram.
