Mock exercise conducted to enhance anti-terror readiness

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Feb, 2026) The police in collaboration with other departments and agencies arranged a mock exercise at Darbar Baba Qaim Saeen in the jurisdiction of Ghulam Muhammad Abad police station on Thursday to test and strengthen preparedness against potential terrorist incidents.

Police spokesman said that the exercise followed a comprehensive anti-terrorism strategy and involved participation from multiple law enforcement agencies including Faisalabad Police, Elite Force, Dolphin Force, CTD, Special Branch, Technical Sweeping Units, Bomb Disposal Squad, Rescue 1122 and Fire Brigade.

ASP Gulberg Hassan Bilal, SHO Ghulam Muhammad Abad and other senior officers supervised the drill.

During exercise, the police and allied personnel carried out operations at the simulated scene and neutralized a mock terrorist in addition to apprehending another in an injured condition.

Civil Defense and Bomb Disposal Squad conducted thorough sweeps of the area by using anti-mine and anti-bomb detectors to ensure the site was completely cleared and safe.

Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibzada Bilal Umar said that the mock exercise aimed to ensure that law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to respond efficiently to any sudden emergency or security threat. Such exercises enhance coordination, response time and public safety preparedness, he added.
