FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) A comprehensive mock counter-terrorism exercise was held at Central Imambargah in Jhang Bazaar under the directives of Punjab IGP to strengthen operational preparedness and response strategies against potential terrorist threats.
Police spokesman said here on Saturday that DSP Civil Lines Ghulam Shabbir flanked by SHO Jhang Bazaar police station supervised the mock exercise in which various teams of police, Elite Force, Dolphin Force, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Branch, technical sweeping teams, bomb disposal squads and Rescue 1122 fire brigade participated.
During operation, the security personnel neutralized a simulated terrorist threat, resulting in one mock terrorist “killed” and another “arrested” while fire brigade teams extinguished a controlled blaze on site.
Civil Defense and bomb disposal squads conducted thorough clearance by using anti-mine and anti-bomb detectors to ensure that the area was completely secure.
City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibzada Bilal Umar said that the mock exercise aimed to maintain constant readiness to tackle any sudden emergency or terrorist incident.
He also highlighted the importance of coordinated action among law enforcement, rescue and technical teams to protect citizens and critical locations.
