Mobile phone snatching incidents decreased by 45pc

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jun, 2026) A significant decrease has been recorded in mobile phone snatching incidents in the city. 246 incidents of mobile phone snatching were reported during the first 5 months of 2026.

According to police records, 133 cases of mobile phone snatching were registered in the first 5 months of this year.

In the City Division, 36 incidents of mobile phone snatching were reported last year, while 32 were reported this year. In the Cantt Division, 15 cases were registered this year compared to 42 last year.

In the Civil Lines Division, 26 incidents were reported last year, while 16 incidents were reported this year. In Saddar Division, 18 mobile phones were snatched this year compared to 42 last year.

In Iqbal Town Division, 44 cases were registered last year and 26 this year, while in Model Town Division, 26 incidents were reported this year compared to 56 last year.
