Mirpurkhas Observes World Environment Day with Tree Plantation Drive

MIRPURKHAS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jun, 2026) The Department of Environment Mirpurkhas marked World Environment Day with a tree plantation campaign along the green belt from Chandni Chowk to Jarwari Chowk, where 50 saplings were planted.

The campaign was attended by Town Chairman Muhammad Farooq, Assistant Director Environment Abdul Aziz Mahar, Chemist Shahid-ur-Rehman, Assistant Directors Vikram Kumar and Muhammad Shehbaz, Deputy Director Information Ghulam Raza Khoso, Field Supervisor Intizar Hussain, Mohsin Ali, and citizens from various walks of life.

Deputy Director Environment Ali Muhammad Rind said World Environment Day is observed on June 5 to raise public awareness about environmental protection.

He stressed that safeguarding the environment is not only the government’s responsibility but a national and moral duty of every citizen.

Rind urged people to pledge to keep cities, villages, rivers, land, and the atmosphere free from pollution, adding that preventing pollution is essential for present and future generations.

He encouraged every individual to plant at least one tree and ensure its proper care and maintenance.
