Mirpur's Mian Muhammad Road to close for Eid shopping rush

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 15th Mar, 2026) Mirpur district administration has closed the City's busiest Mian Muhammad Road from Quaid-e-Azam cricket Stadium Chowk to central Chowk Shaheedan for all types of vehicular traffic from Sunday during the last days of Ramadan from 4.OO pm to 12 midnight for the facility of people to do eid shopping with their families in this busiest road comprising major shopping malls.

"The district administration and police have arranged parking for the vehicles at the Quaid-e-Azam International Cricket Stadium and Officers Club for the convenience of those seeking shopping in the shopping centers located on the road", a district administration spokesman told APP here on Sunday.

"The general public visiting the area, can park their vehicles at above sites for onward shopping, by foot on Mian Muhammad Road", he said adding that the road will continue temporarily closed for traffic from afternoon to night until Eid, as the rush of shoppers on this road during the evening and night hours was also causing traffic hazards creating inconvenience for large number of the families visiting for the eid shopping.

The spokesman also underlined that the families also had to face parking difficulties during visit to this highly crowded shopping mall road especially during the above peak hours.

The district administration and police have asked the public and traders to cooperate with the administration for the convenience of the to undertake walk-in shopping this area with their families in conducive environment without any trouble.
