Minister takes notice of cheating in exam centers, suspends staff

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ismail Rahu on Thursday paid surprise visits to various examination centers in Hyderabad and took strict notice of serious irregularities in the examination system.

During his visits, the minister inspected multiple centers including Government Degree College in Latifabad No 11 and Government Girls High school M.A. Jinnah Campus. Several students were caught cheating, while mobile phones and cheating material were also recovered from candidates.

Expressing strong displeasure over the situation, the provincial minister took immediate action by suspending nine externals and ordered changes in the duties of several officials. He also directed the appointment of additional externals to improve monitoring.

Later, Rahu visited the examination center at Government Boys Degree College Qasimabad, where more students were found in possession of mobile phones. He showed serious concern and ordered suspension and reassignment of duties of several officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Ismail Rahu said that the continued trend of cheating despite strict measures was unfortunate. He made it clear that the copy culture would not be tolerated under any circumstances and emphasized that teachers, students, parents and board administration must fulfill their responsibilities to eliminate it.

He further stated that the Sindh government was committed to eradicating the menace of cheating and more stringent steps would be taken in this regard.
