Minister reviews development projects in Khanewal

KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) Under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Provincial Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafiq conducted an official visit to Mian Channu to inspect ongoing development projects under the Punjab Development Program (PDP).

During the visit, Minister Rafiq reviewed projects worth PKR 6 billion, including water storage tanks for rainwater harvesting, drainage and sewerage systems, street paving with Tuff tiles, and installation of street lights. He stressed that all projects would be completed on time without compromising on quality, and assured that the completion of these initiatives would provide much-needed relief to local residents.

The Minister also highlighted the reconstruction of the railway underpass, which aims to eliminate traffic congestion and improve urban mobility for citizens.

Minister Rafiq was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary Rana Saleem Hanif, Deputy Commissioner Maleeha Rasheed, MPA Rana Babar Hussain (representative), Assistant Commissioner Sajida Razaq, Deputy Director Development Muzaffar Khan, Chief Officer District Council Malik Zahid Khalil, and other officials.

He further stated that in Khanewal, Kabirwala, and Abdul Hakim, development projects worth PKR 32 billion are being executed to strengthen the local governance system and enhance public amenities.

“These projects are part of our ongoing efforts to improve urban infrastructure and provide citizens with safe, efficient, and modern facilities,” said Minister Zeeshan Rafiq. “We are committed to completing these initiatives swiftly to offer tangible relief to the public.”
