Minister pledges extraordinary security arrangements for Youm-e-Ali

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) Punjab Minister for Health and Chairman Cabinet Committee for Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that extraordinary security arrangements will be made across the province on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali (RA).

He expressed these views during his visit to Jamiat-ul-Muntazir in Model Town on Wednesday, undertaken on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. During the meeting, security arrangements for Youm Ali Karamullah Wajha and other matters of mutual interest were discussed in detail.

Khawaja Salman Rafique said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the police and all concerned agencies to ensure foolproof security arrangements on the occasion. He reiterated that extraordinary measures will be adopted to maintain peace and order, adding that all available resources are being utilized to establish lasting peace across Punjab.

The minister emphasized that mutual understanding and unity are the need of the hour for maintaining peace. He stated that the Punjab government is actively promoting interfaith and inter-sect harmony throughout the province and that all schools of thought are respected.

He added that religious scholars are important and respected pillars of society whose role is vital in fostering unity.

Officials of Jamiat-ul-Muntazir Lahore welcomed the provincial minister and assured full cooperation with the Punjab government for the establishment of peace, order and mutual harmony. Special prayers were offered for the development, security and prosperity of the country and the nation. Fateha was also offered for Syed Ayatollah Khamenei and other martyrs.

CEO COE-CVE Ghulam Sagheer Shahid, DG Auqaf Shahid Hassan, Additional Secretary Home Abdul Rauf, SP Model Town Raza, ASP Kashmala, Assistant Commissioner Model Town Abdul Sami Sheikh and other concerned officers were present on the occasion. Religious scholars including Maulana Lal Hussain Towhidi, Maulana Syed Ghulam Shabbir Najafi, Maulana Baqir Jawadi, Maulana Ijaz Hussain Haideri and Maulana Syed Zia-ul-Hassan Naqvi also attended the meeting.
