SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th May, 2026) Rana Munawer Ghous Khan on Saturday inaugurated an Associate College for Girls in Shah Nikdur, terming the project a major educational initiative under the vision of Maryam Nawaz Sharif to promote “Education for All”.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the minister congratulated the local population and said what was once considered “mission impossible” had now become possible under the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League (N).
He said the college had been constructed at a cost of Rs131.08 million and equipped with modern educational facilities to meet contemporary academic requirements.
According to the minister, the building comprises 30 rooms, state-of-the-art science and computer laboratories, modern furniture and improved infrastructure aimed at providing a quality educational environment for female students.
Rana Munawer said he had fulfilled his promise to the people of Shah Nikdur as the area’s elected representative, adding that the institution would cater to the educational needs of girls for years to come.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He added that students from nearly 20 surrounding villages, along with Shah Nikdur locality, would benefit from access to higher education closer to their homes.
The minister said he had worked relentlessly to convince the Punjab government of the area’s educational needs and personally monitored the construction process to ensure transparency and quality.
Local leaders of Pakistan Muslim League (N), including Makhdoom Shah Kameer Qureshi and Chaudhry Mumtaz Aziz, also attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Zia Ul Hassan Awan said admissions for the current academic session had commenced following the inauguration.
He said temporary teaching and administrative staff had been deployed to run the institution until approval for permanent appointments was granted.
He added that the Punjab government was focusing on improving the education sector across the province.
Meanwhile, Makhdoom Shah Kameer Qureshi thanked Maryam Nawaz Sharif for resolving what he described as a longstanding issue faced by the people of the area.
