Minister distributes 20 wheelchairs, pledges enhanced support for persons with disabilities

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister, Khaleequr Rehman Friday distributed 20 wheelchairs among physically disabled persons reaffirming government’s commitment to support persons with disabilities.

He attended as a chief guest at ceremony held at Habib Physiotherapy Complex (HPC), Hayatabad. The minister was briefed by Director MMI of HPC regarding services being offered including physiotherapy, speech therapy, audiology, psychological counseling, and provision of assistive devices.

The minister also visited various sections of complex and reviewed treatment being provided to patients suffering from polio, stroke-related paralysis, neurological disorders, and other physical disabilities.

The minister also met with special children undergoing therapy and elderly patients facing mobility and age-related challenges.

While expressing his satisfaction over the quality of services, the Minister appreciated services of doctors, therapists, and staff.

He said that provincial government was prioritizing rehabilitation services aiming to provide disabled persons with equal opportunities.
