Minister Communications reviews roads situation

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jul, 2026) A meeting chaired by Provincial Minister Communications & Works Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth reviewed the monsoon situation and road restoration measures.

The meeting was informed that a road affected by waterlogging in Sheikhupura has been restored and opened for traffic within a record time of 48 hours.

The road link of Loharan and surrounding villages has also been restored, providing immediate travel facilities to local residents.

The field teams of the Communications & Works Department worked day and night and completed the road restoration work before the given time.

The Superintending Engineer Highways Lahore and Executive Engineer Sheikhupura showed excellent performance along with their teams. Both officers remained present at the site for the last 48 hours and personally monitored the restoration work.

Provincial Minister Communications & Works Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth appreciated the timely action and professional capabilities of the concerned officers and field staff. He said that due to the timely strategy of the Communications & Works Department, traffic flow has been restored in the affected areas.

He said that during the monsoon emergency, providing safe and uninterrupted travel facilities to the public is the top priority.

Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth further said that according to the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, all available resources are being utilized for immediate restoration of roads and public facilitation.

The Provincial Minister appreciated the field teams and said: "Well done team, your hard work and dedication are highly appreciated.
