Minister C&W orders high alert as rain forecast for Murree and other parts of Punjab

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jun, 2026) In view of the expected rainfall in Murree and other parts of the province, Provincial Minister for Communication & Works Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth has directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert to ensure public safety and uninterrupted traffic flow.

The Minister instructed the Highways Department to remain fully vigilant and ensure that all landslide clearance machinery in Murree and adjoining areas is fully functional and ready for immediate response.

He emphasized the need for swift action teams to address any landslides or road blockages to maintain smooth connectivity.

He further directed that rainwater should not accumulate on the roads, and all drainage systems must remain fully operational to ensure the safety of commuters and protection of road infrastructure.

Special instructions were also issued to the Building Wing to deploy staff for inspection of rooftops of all public buildings, particularly hospitals, to ensure structural safety in view of the expected rainfall.

The Minister directed all field formations to remain alert and ensure close coordination among departments for effective handling of any emergency situation. Reaffirming his commitment to public safety, Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth stated that all available resources will be utilized to protect citizens and ensure uninterrupted service delivery across the province during the expected rainfall period.
