Minister appeal public to not tie sacrificial animals near electricity poles

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) Provincial Minister for Energy Punjab, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, has appealed to the public to exercise extreme caution while tying sacrificial animals ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

He urged citizens not to tie animals near electricity poles, transformers, or hanging power lines, warning that even minor negligence can lead to serious accidents involving both human lives and valuable livestock.

The minister said that due to the increased movement of sacrificial animals before Eid, it is essential to adopt proper safety measures to prevent any untoward incidents.

He emphasized that citizens should carefully inspect the surroundings before tying animals and ensure that no hazardous electrical installations or exposed wires are nearby.

Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar also advised parents to instruct children to stay away from electricity poles, wires, and power installations to avoid accidents during the festive period.

He said the Energy Department and relevant authorities are fully alert to ensure public safety, but stressed that citizen cooperation is equally important.

The minister urged the public to strictly follow safety guidelines to protect both human lives and sacrificial animals during Eid-ul-Azha preparations.
