Metro Bus catches fire near 6th Road Station in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) A fire broke out in a metro bus near the 6th Road Metro bus station on Saturday, prompting a swift response from Rescue 1122, which safely evacuated all passengers with no reported casualties.

According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, emergency teams reached the site immediately after receiving the alert and launched a professional rescue operation.

All passengers were efficiently evacuated, and the situation was quickly brought under control.

The operation involved more than 12 rescue personnel and four emergency vehicles, while a specialized emergency vehicle was also deployed to support the response.

Fire tenders were dispatched from Saddar via the Metro Bus track to ensure rapid access to the scene and assist in extinguishing the blaze.

Rescue officials reiterated that emergency services remain fully alert and prepared to respond to any situation, utilizing all available resources to protect lives and property.
