KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) Chief Minister (CM) of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, in his message on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashura, paid tribute to the great sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S) and the martyrs of Karbala, saying, "Peace be upon that Hussain (A.S.) who sacrificed his all for the exaltation of the religion of Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) and the survival of Islam."

He said that the saga of sacrifice, patience, steadfastness, and loyalty, etched upon the burning sands of Karbala, will continue to guide humanity until the Day of Judgment.

In his message, the CM Sindh stated that the great sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) and the martyrs of Karbala is the immortal heritage of the Muslim Ummah. The grandson of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) chose to be beheaded rather than bow his head before falsehood, and by watering the tree of islam with his blood, he hoisted the flag of truth and justice for all times.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said that Ashura teaches us the lessons of honor, self-respect, patience, steadfastness, and standing firm against the forces of falsehood.

He said that every martyr of Karbala is a living embodiment of loyalty, selflessness, and sacrifice, while the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) inspired humanity to raise its voice against oppression and tyranny.

He said that even today, the oppressed of the world draw a message of hope, courage, and steadfastness from Karbala, and the ideology of Hussain (A.S.) stands as a symbol of humanity, justice, freedom, and the exaltation of character.

The Chief Minister of Sindh said that on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashura, every heart is grieving and every eye is tearful in the memory of the martyrs of Karbala.

He said that Karbala is not merely a historical event, but rather an enduring symbol of the distinction between truth and falsehood, and a beacon for the struggle for truth and justice until the end of time.

Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) conveyed the message to the Muslim Ummah that no sacrifice is too great for the sake of truth, and remaining silent in the face of oppression and tyranny is not the way of the righteous, he said.

He said that the land of Sindh has always identified itself with its love and devotion for the Ahl-e-Bait (A.S.). At the same time, the Sufis of Sindh have passed down the message of love, loyalty, and sacrifice of Karbala from generation to generation.

The CM noted that the agony of Karbala and the love for Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) are vividly reflected in the poetry of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (R.A.), and the call of "Ya Hussain (A.S.)" remains the heartbeat of oppressed humanity even today.

Syed Murad Ali Shah informed that foolproof security arrangements have been made for the majalis and processions across Sindh on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashura, and the Sindh Government is ensuring the provision of all possible facilities and a peaceful environment for the mourners.

He prayed that Allah may grant us the ability to act upon the teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) and the Ahl-e-Bait (A.S.), and to walk in their footsteps.
