MEPCO lineman electrocuted

DERA GHAZI KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jun, 2026) A MEPCO lineman was electrocuted while carrying out maintenance work at electric pole in the Shadan Lund area of Dera Ghazi Khan on Monday.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the incident occurred near Al-Nasr Cotton Factory in Basti Lashari, where the lineman received an electric shock while working on the pole and fell to the ground.

Upon receiving emergency call, Rescue 1122 dispatched a motorbike response unit and an ambulance from the nearby Shadan Lund Rescue Station. The rescue team reached the scene within eight minutes and found the victim unconscious.

The rescuers immediately administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and shifted him to the Rural Health Centre (RHC), Shadan Lund, where the attending doctor pronounced him dead.

The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Habib-ur-Rehman, son of Tagha Khan, a resident of Chak Ganda, Shadan Lund, Dera Ghazi Khan.

Following completion of the medico-legal formalities, Rescue 1122 handed over the body to the deceased’s family and transported it to his residence on their request.
