MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st May, 2026) The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Composite Circle Multan arrested a MEPCO Assistant Lineman on Friday for allegedly accepting a bribe during an ongoing crackdown against corruption.
Officials said a team conducted a successful trap raid under the supervision of Judicial Magistrate Section 30 Malik Saif Mazhar.
The raid was carried out following a complaint lodged by Muhammad Akhtar, a resident of Tehsil Kabirwala, District Khanewal.
During the operation, the accused, Muhammad Asif, Assistant Lineman (ALM) of MEPCO’s second sub-division, was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the complainant in exchange for performing official duties.
The suspect was taken into custody and a case has been registered against him. Further investigation was underway.
