PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) An important meeting on the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the fiscal year 2025-26 was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi to assess financial performance, fund utilization, and implementation progress of development initiatives across merged and settled districts.
The meeting carried out a comprehensive review of sector-wise expenditures, release of funds, pace of execution on ongoing schemes, and financial management mechanisms aimed at ensuring strict fiscal discipline and effective delivery of public development priorities.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has directed all concerned departments to ensure full and timely utilization of all released funds before the close of the current fiscal year so that development projects could be completed within stipulated timelines and in line with approved targets.
He underscored that transparency, speed, and quality must remain the hallmark of all development interventions and warned against any negligence in implementation and financial management.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need for maximum utilization of AIP funds and directed the relevant authorities to adopt a coordinated and result-oriented strategy to raise the current utilization level from 89 percent to 100 percent in order to ensure optimum public benefit through efficient deployment of available resources.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The meeting further reviewed the provincial cash flow forecasting for the fourth quarter of the ongoing fiscal year and examined sectoral financial requirements alongside available fiscal resources.
During the briefing, the meeting was informed that approval had been granted for the release of Rs. 5.60 billion for the Counter Terrorism Department to further strengthen the province’s counterterrorism capacity and operational preparedness.
Participants were further informed that Rs. 2.39 billion had been released for due for completion (DFC) projects to ensure their timely completion and early provision of public facilities and services.
Similarly, Rs13.825 billion had been released under the PRP project. The meeting was also briefed that 100 percent funds had been released for PKHA, while additional measures were being implemented to ensure timely and efficient utilization of funds across various development sectors.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi directed the authorities concerned to maintain a robust monitoring and oversight mechanism to ensure transparency in utilization of public funds and timely completion of all ongoing development projects.
