SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) District Public Prosecutor Malik Amir Shehzad on Wednesday presided over a meeting at the District Public Prosecutor Office to review the implementation of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz's "Drug-Free Punjab" vision and the Punjab Legal Aid Act.

Investigative officers from the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (PCNF), Punjab Police, and senior prosecutors from the Sargodha headquarters attended the meeting.

During the briefing, the District Public Prosecutor Malik Amir Shehzad emphasized the importance of high-quality evidence and adherence to legal requirements to ensure the conviction of drug traffickers.

He further instructed investigative officers to refer deserving citizens to the prosecution office to avail free legal assistance under the Punjab Legal Aid Act, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder justice.

Senior Deputy District Public Prosecutor Javed Iqbal addressed technical queries during a question-and-answer session, focusing on inter-departmental harmony.

The participants of the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to professional coordination to eliminate the drug menace and provide relief to the public through effective legal frameworks.
