Meeting held to review arrangements for Eid, Youm-e-Takbeer, upcoming Pakistan-Australia cricket match in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) A meeting of the District Peace and Interfaith Harmony Committee, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Maliha Sahar, reviewed security and sanitation arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha, Youm-e-Takbeer, and the upcoming Pakistan-Australia cricket match in Rawalpindi.

Representatives of police, security agencies, trader bodies, and peace committee members attended the meeting.

A comprehensive cleanliness plan under the “Suthra Punjab” initiative was also discussed, under which special waste bags are being distributed to ensure proper disposal of animal waste.

Officials reiterated that foolproof security arrangements would be ensured for Youm-e-Takbeer events and the May 30 cricket match.

Trader representatives and peace committee members assured full cooperation to maintain law and order and promote harmony in the city.
