Measures under way to provide quality transportation facilities: commissioner

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2026) As per the vision of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the divisional administration is striving to provide quality transportation facilities to citizens.

In this regard, the carpeting of five important main and secondary roads of the city through cold milling technology is ongoing at a fast pace under the auspices of the Municipal Corporation, Faisalabad.

Commissioner Mussarat Jabeen said here on Friday that the carpeting of Jail Road, Awan Chowk to Mehdi Mohalla Phatak Nishatabad, Awan Chowk to Sambal Chowk, Ahmed Nagar and Haseeb Shaheed Colony Road is in progress.

She said that earlier, carpeting of 20 roads of the city has been completed while 9 other roads are also scheduled to be carpeted.

She said that the repairing and carpeting work on 4 roads at a cost of Rs 250 million is also being started in the next few days.

The road from Tezab Mills Chowk to Jaranwala Road to Satyana Road (Khawaja islam Road) 1.35 km, Kashmir road from Canal Road to Sangla Hill Faisalabad Road 1.60 km, Faisalabad Sangla Hill Road to West Canal Road (Fesco Road) 0.73 km and Sahil Hospital to Nishatabad Bridge Main Sheikhupura Road 3.70 km will be repaired and carpeted.

The Commissioner said that work is also underway on making the street lights 100 percent functional, improving the zebra crossing, center medians, and lane marking.
